Graf Engineered White Oak

A versatile white oak foundation

The character of white oak comes from its grain as much as its color. Graf's standard engineered white oak pairs a real oak surface with a plywood structure, giving you a way to carry the same species through a carefully planned interior. Select the grade and grain pattern before judging the final look: a cleaner Select + Better mix and a more expressive Character mix are different aesthetic choices. Neither should be inferred from one attractive board in a room photograph.

Compare the construction

The details that matter

The published sample specification describes 5/8-inch engineered white oak with a 4 mm wear layer and nine-ply Baltic birch. This is a different construction from GRAFCORE. Confirm the exact board thickness and core on the flooring quotation, particularly where transitions meet tile, existing wood, or stair nosings. A sample's short length is for evaluation; it is not the length specification for the eventual flooring order.

Choose width, grade and grain together

The manufacturer's sample selector includes width, grade, and grain-pattern choices. Its sample menu does not establish current stock of full-length boards. Bring your preferred combination to the project quotation and have dimensions, pack coverage, lengths, and availability confirmed together. If you are comparing rift, quartered, and plain-sawn appearances, request the matching grain samples instead of expecting one piece to represent all three.

Plan the finish and installation

Unfinished wood allows the color and protective finish to be selected as part of the installation. Include on-site preparation, sanding, coating, and curing in the project schedule. Ask the installer to review the full assembly and moisture conditions before fixing the installation method. The real-wood surface should be cared for as hardwood, not treated as a waterproof floor. Protect the finished surface from grit and standing water, and use the cleaner approved for the final coating.
